Default Just got my 1 piece DEPO chromes and need advice on wiring modifications

just ordered DEPO chrome 1 piece from ecstuning
they are on their way to my house. my only question is that ecstuning has pre-labeled wiring harness for pre-facelift cars. mine is 98 so im guessing i would need it. it says it is needed. do i need it? thought all i needed to do was some fender trimming?

also do i need this ??? have no idea wtf it is for but its in the wiring section for 1 piece headlights

if you don't want to mess with the wiring inside the headlights then you'll need that. I am using a harness off an s4 and it works perfectly fine. I even have the city lights wired up

Don't do that. Remove the headlight harness from your existing headlights (just twist the base and pull it out). Install it in the new headlights and connect to the bulbs and the car. PM CCA4 for a link to his DIY for help.

If those are the same as all facelift harnesses (looks that way), you could visit a junkyard and cut that part of the harness off, it'll cost $10 at most.

The DIY probably shows how to do it, but I just cut my old harnesses and soldered the wires to the corresponding pins on the back of the headlight. Probably not the best solution, but it's better than spending $70 for a harness. Next time I take them out I'll probably cut the wires further back and use some kind of plug for each wire so I can disconnect them easier.
