Talking Just got my APR chip today

I was pretty pleasantly surprised at the power difference - I knew it would be noticeable but not nearly as substantial as it was. She had a bit of a misfire issue when I really got on her, but I replaced the spark plugs & gapped them to .028 and all is well with the world once more. Seems like this car goes through spark plugs like most people go through chewing gum. It would appear that Audi mods are like tattoos, though - as soon as you get your first one, you immediately want to get more. One thing is for sure though, that APR chip was the best $350 I've ever spent.
(And for anyone near MD, New German Performance is a damn good shop. Everyone there was very helpful and overwhelmingly enthusiastic. That supercharged RS4 they have there is nuts, too.)

Yes, APR chips rock.... I like how you can "toggle" between stock and mod "on the fly". Here's a pic of the very noticeable gains we got on our car. Obviously, these ratings are to the rear wheels and measured with a Gtech pro which I found to be very accurate when compared to a Dyno Dynamics.

That's to the rear wheels....that's a LOT and I wasn't expecting that out of a "chip"...

Take into consideration that his is a 2001 which already has 20 more hp stock than the other years so add 20 to your number if you are not a 2001 owner.

Nope. The 2001 has higher boost stock which accounts for the 20hp. It's not a "K03s" doing it. You would increase any of them to the same amount of boost so that advantage disappears.

You're not getting the point. The point is the poster says "so roughly 25 more HP?". And my answer is pointing out that it depends on the year of the car. If you are taking a pre 2001 which has 150 chp and chip it, you won't just add 25 more HP, you will be adding around 45 more HP. So telling a guy who owns a pre 2001 A4 that he will find a 25 hp increase in performance by chipping it is incorrect. Does that make sense?
