Default Just got my Audi Back need help!

So I just got my Audi back from the shop and I replaced the clutch, my buddy says to not go above 3000rpm's for 3000-5000 miles to get clutch warmed up?!?! Do I really have to do this??

I need to do my clutch as well. How much did you pay for labor?

I could not imagine driving so slow for so many miles. I would think like 500 miles if the clutch requires breaking in. Also depends on what kind of clutch you put in. I would get hold of the manufacturer.

Did you take it to a dealership? Aftermarket, or OEM? $1,700 is kinda pricey, I think.
I got couted in two shops who would do labor for $600 & $800, which I think is kinda fair.

I agree that there is probably some sort of break in period for the clutch, but i can't imagine it has anything to do with how high you rev the car after releasing the clutch. I'm sure the break in would involve not doing 5K clutch dumps or anything but beyond that i'm not sure

It was at a local garage not a dealer, supposedly i "shattered" my flywheel he showed me it and i literally shattered it haha. But CCA4 I agree with you, I don't think it matters to what my rev's are as long as I don't dump it.

yeah, u dont need to keep it under 3000 rpms, you just want to be soft on the shifting and no launching!
