Just listed my 2.8 5 speed in the classifieds section..
Not sure if making a thread like this is kosher... if it isn't, mod, just delete it.

well, thats all I listed it for on CL. Honestly I'll take any offer into consideration. and at 80k. The belts show a bit of use on the edges but they are tight with no marks
thats more realistic. the car will need a $1000 belt job within a year or two. 3000-3500 would be a fair price, list it at 3800 just because people will always try and work you over.
you may also try parting the car out if you cant get enough for it in the current condition. its going to be a ton of work for you trying to keep it all in order but you can end up making 6-8 grand in parts. but by part out, i mean the entire car. everything. though you would have to deal with many people and probably shipping on alot of stuff.
also who were the hacks that installed the clutch?

really if anyone is interested I'll consider any reasonable offer.
if its an Audi Dealership, you can call Audi corporate and they can make the dealer listen. if it was some second hand car from a honda dealer or something, you might be screwed. i guess its one of the perks of going with a certified Audi.
Get estimate for work and go through small claims court. It just sounds shady when someone says: "they ruined my car and now they won't talk to me so I'm selling it for dirt cheap". Report them to the Better Business Bureau. Get the State Attorney General Involved, say they scammed you into buying a busted car. Make their life living hell!!
yea i would go down there and politely tell them that they can either talk to you about this now, or you can go start yelling in the middle of their show room. do it on a saturday when there will be alot of customers there.
they will argue that you did sign as-is papers. which you should never have done. but if they didnt tell you about the cracked transmission before the sale that might fall under your states lemon law anyway. the least they should do is repair it for you, or pay to have it repaired elsewhere. that bellhousing isnt a light little piece of metal. they had to have been pounding on it pretty hard with a sledgehammer or something. idiots.

aklieb: yeah, tahts one of my major problems in selling the car. it sounds way sketchy. basically whats happening is i talked to my rents, and they offered to help me finance something CPO'd so i have a waranty and maitnence and something with 20k miles as opposed to over 100k
ghost: oh, this has been done. I keep caling, and they are screening my calls. last saturday my dad and I went there to talk to the guy face to face and as soon as we walked in he said "i can get you a transmission" we didnt even need to open our mouths, so he knows what he did. he also cursed out my mechanic on the phone and denies he did that. the problem with the transmission is it will be a junkyard trans, and he wont cover the cost of instillation, or even deliver it (hes about 1.5hrs away) so all in all id still be spending more than i am losing taking a hit selling the car.
and as for "slamming it with a hammer".... yes. there are hammer marks on it.
we are still considering small claims but I wouldnt get a date till feb, but after laywer fees and all that, and possibly losing, the monetary value would all be the same. its a shame, really. we are reporting them to the BBB however.
