K&N Cone Filter w/1.8t?
Anyone done it? How well does it perform? Got any pics? I've always been a big fan of K&N but they don't carry a kit for our cars. Is there a way to modify one to fit?
Pictures please!

alot of people see a slight loss of power because the stock airbox flows so well and draws cold air from the front, the cone filter draws heated air from right above the turbo. without a heatshield you will loose a few HP.
if you want to get one, just find a filter with the same size connecter as your MAF housing, i think its 2.5", then get some sort of turbo inlet pipe and sandwich the maf between the two.

I've heard the same all across the forums. I'll admit, I want it more for sound and engine aesthetics than anything. I have heard claims of very slight hp increases, but I'm not holding my breath for it. I was going to make a heatshield either from general purpose materials or the heatshield material that ecs tuning carries. Do you think there would be much of a difference between the two? Maybe there's something even better out there. what do you think the best material would be for a heatshield?

as long as you get a good heatshield it should be fine. i made one out of a piece of sheet metal i had laying around and covered it in padded aluminum insulation. its not pretty but it works. theres a few people on here that have made some really nice looking shields, just look around a little.
