Key-less entry window trick?
#11
No other "tricks" can be achieved, at least without doing some really extensive stuff.

I see.....just as well, the sole purpose was to have a scan tool at my disposal,no more running to autozone for a scan if(god forbid) a CEL triggers a code,i can read it and clear it,for diagnostic purposes, anything else is just a bonus, like programming the windows n such

Just as a side note, the unlocked version of VagCom isn't essential. Us upstate NY guys do a LOT of work on these cars and so far the free version has carried us through everything, including the window coding. I'm still going to buy the full version, as I know it'll be needed sooner or later, but if you are just doing typical diagnostics, checking and clearing CELs, ABS lights, and airbag warnings and such, the freeware will do all you need and won't cost you anything other than the cable.
BTW, please fill in your location info through the User CP - it may pay
off for you or someone else in the future in trying to get an assist with a car project or problem, or with another local AFer wanting to hang out.

This is what came up when i ran the auto-scan but as you can see, this version of the software won't clear any of the DTC's says i need a activation code,i thought i could do the very basic of things, like scan for codes and clear them,if present without needing to pay the 99.00 fee

when i attempted to program the key-less window trick, within the Central Locking control module (35) a message came up after a few attempts by the software to read the Central Locking control module,it said"controller not responding"or something of that nature.
It's not the cable or anything,i have the settings, within system/devices set to com1 and set to com1 within the vag-com software also, not to mention that other controller modules read just fine. So what am i doing wrong? I'm using a mac book pro with windows 7 running on another partition, running vag-com in windows xp sp3 compatibility mode.

Could someone please help me program my 2001 Audi A4 1.8T AWM so the windows roll up and down via the keyless fob? I tried to access the module by typing 35 in the address entry but says it has no response from the controller.

If your central locking system works, my guess is that your cable/software combination just isn't capable of accessing the module. Might be worthwhile to find out if you can find someone near you with legit Ross-Tech cable and software to see if the module is actually accessible.

can you please tell me,which software,I'm suppose to use? and if using the software on a macbook pro via windows 7 on a dual boot partition using bootcamp, would be a issue?
I don't think so because i can run an actual scan as you saw in my prior post,i just couldn't clear any with the trial software.
1 I need to know if i am using the correct free shareware and if running the software in compatibility mode in windows 7 (windows xp sp2) isn't a issue.
