Default key programming

i bought an audi 1998 a4 and it came with one key and remote, the remote didnt work cause it didnt have batteries. after installing batteries it still didnt work but just recently my freind was messing around with his honda remote and i opened my car with my key through the passanger side since my drivers door lock is busted and the car made a beep sound and as soon as i turned the ignition on the alarm went of. I didnt know what to do so i stuck the key in the trunk lid and turned it to the left and it turned of, but now each time i open the passanger door and try opening the driver door and butting the key in the alarm keeps on going of. I NEED HELP PLZ I ONLY HAVE ONE KEY AND THE DRIVERS DOOR LOCK IS BUSTED IF IS THERE ANY WAY TO FIX IT?

Default RE: key programming

I think you need a valet key or 2nd fob to reprogram your remote, unless you have access to VAG COM. A locksmith with VAG blanks can cut you a valet key for under $50 or you could buy a blank from Epay first - otherwise its off to the stealership.

It may be the arming or tamper switch in the driver's door is bad. Have you tried disarming and unlocking from the trunk instead of using the passenger door since that appears to disarm the alarm?

You may need to repair/replace - or swap with pax - the driver side lock and switch first.
