Yes, the clips and mounts are the same for all the B5 taillights. The difference is in the lens colors and bulb locations. All US B5s will have a rear fog light on the driver's side only.

The 98s have the reverse light one "slot" higher than the facelift taillights as shown below.

My headliner is sagging in the same place, I have it held up by clear thumbtacks at the moment but It still annoys the crap out of me. I really gotta attack that at some point, lights look great. If you got the cree reverses you will love them, they are so nice. I get compliments and people asking where I got them literally all the time

 

Those lights look very good. I was wondering about the right one to order for me...I have a 1998 AEB and it is I think a Preface lift one.
