Default labor hours for tb/water pump & VC gaskets, cctg?

I am going to be having a job done by an experienced Indy shop, what should I expect for labor hours? Here's the kits I bought for the job. Audi A4 Valve Cover Gasket Kit - Audi A4 Valve Cover Gaskets 30V and Audi B5 A4 Quattro V6 30v Engine Timing Timing Belt Kit ES#6198 ECS Tuning Timing Belt Kit - Ultimate Plus - 078198479 V2+

Just want to have a little info before going into this...TY in advance!

Typically, a independent shop will charge 500.00 for a timing belt job, compared to an Audi stealership for about 1000.00 So yeah, 500.00 to install the timing belt and accessories and the valve cover gasket and seals.

Since the whole front end has to come off, it'll be easy to change the from crankshaft seals and everything that needs to be done.

Make sure you buy everything that should and needs to be done, while you have a mechanic in there, might as well since its all labor. take advantage of the fact you are going to need to remove the from end and get everything done as much as possible.

TY Morp...I'm happy to hear this. I was thinking around 700. Sometimes when a female walks thru the door, they think CHA-CHING! The guy charges 75 an hour, which I know is alot less than the dealership.

You should always bring a man with you, when you're about to get this type of extensive work done to your car. Yes, unfortunately women do get taken advantage of by crooked mechanics.

^^^ This is good advice. I've seen a lot of women get taken on jobs like this.

We've(me & the kid) been trying to keep down cost by doing alot of the repairs ourselves, nothing to high tech by any means, but even the small jobs have saved us some good money to put somewhere else. Vacuum lines, air flow meter, sticky radio buttons, door lock, CV shaft, abs sensors and rear brakes, I have to say it sure feels good when ya look at the finished product.

You dont need a man in order to stand your ground and tell the shop what you're willing to pay. If you make a reasonable offer and they decline, take your hard earned money somewhere else.
