sigh. more troubles. 2001 audi A4 2.8.
power steering leak. mechanic wants to replace high pressure line between pump and rack. dealer wants $289 for the part. I don't know squat about cars, but isn't this just a reinforced hose? Can anyone point me to where I can buy this online? I'm not finding the right search terms. I did find this one...is this the correct part?

Also, mechanic said the oil was 3 QUARTS low. Make it stop already! He said it looks like it's leaking near the oil filter. Is there any trick to installing the oil filter (hoping against all odds that it just didn't seal correctly versus something more $erious)?
