is the water in the cabin? passenger side floormats and what not? this happened to me a while ago. my problem was a clogged A/C drain, which made it leak out of the vents and got the carpet all wet and what not. just had to find the drain, a little compressed air and boom. fixed

if it's leaking inside AND you saw standing water in your battery compartment, it's probably an easy fix. Remove the battery, remove the battery tray, and you will see a small rubber drain directly underneath where the battery was. It's probably plugged up with leaves and gunk. Just clean that out, and clean up any junk in that whole cowl area.

Some say it's best to simply remove that rubber "one-way-valve" from the drain. I left mine in there for now, and just keep that area clean. So far it's been ok since I had a situation like yours.
