Default Leaking water with A/C on ?

This past week with temperatures in the 90's, I've been using my AC quit a bit and noticed that a a nice amount of water will collect under the car when running, and even when I turn it off. It's a pretty steady drip. This isn't your regualr condensation from the AC because there is a sizeable pool of water under my car right now in the garage. I checked to make sure it is water and it is. Any ideas what this could be ? Thanks for the help ... Clint

what do you mean by sizeable? because the AC system does release water, and it could produce a nice little puddle...

Water under a vehicle is completly normal if the ac or defrost settings are used. Air flows across the evaporator in the air box. The evaporator is near freezing and when hot air hits it condensation forms on the evaporator. This water is directed out the bottom of the car via a drain tube. The more humid the day, the bigger the puddle usually is.

Phew - thanks for the explanation, dankhound! I nearly had a heart attack when I noticed that my A8 had a puddle of water under it.
