are you referring to the strips on the bottom of the lights?
if so, most of these tails come with 2 sets of covers, black and chrome. the stock one do NOT have the same mounting.

 

I thought about just smoking them but I like the look of the LED lighting.

How hard is it to smoke them yourself?

That chrome strip at the bottom is gross and kind of ricey looking so I'd definately have to check and make sure it came with black ones too.

Sorry I wasn't trying to offened anyone let me rephrase that, the chrome strip just isn't my style.

I think it would just be too flashy on the black and wouldn't go with the blacked out look.

Do you have pics though just so I could get an idea of what they look like

I like the junk on my trunk aswell I don't know why i do but i like the stock lights on the back and even though i have Angel eyes aftermarket lights on my B5,i still think the stock ones are sexy but i wanted to go from sexy to smexy

 

I find the 2000-2001, or post facelift tail lights (same ones as s4) are the nicest tail lights you can get for the b5.

No I actually meant swapping the stock cover onto the LED housing. But if the lower section comes with that chrome I don't like it.
