Default LEDs installed and New Wheels (photo attempt 2, 3 coming)

I bring the sucks to picture taking but I installed some LEDs in my headlights today and got my new wheels and tires put on. I'll try to take some nice pictures tomorrow but need a couple suggestions on how to do that.

At night mypictures contrasts horribly and bolts of lightning are thrown everywhere.
Also, my headlights shine white, but pictures show them orange; I can fix it with photoshop, but is there anyway to not get this in the first place?
My camera is a 3 year old, 5 megapixel Olympus, so it's pretty outdated and abused, but I've seen better pictures from a 1.3 mp phone, so it must be me.

I wasn't going for pro on these, but just showing how my camera and I react in my driveway.

And the foglights photoshopped to true color and the bleeding removed from the marker lights:

The last picture is what the lighting looks like in person, but I haven't been able to capture that! It really looks great in person. Do I have to photoshop every picture?

haha you don't have to photoshop every picture to get the colors right, just set the white balance on your camera manually. it should explain how to do it in the manual that came with your camera.

wheels look great, i'm not too sure about the led's though...

Me either on the LEDs. It was only 2 bucks in materials, so I decided to give it a shot.
Would white balance be the same as "Exposure Compensation Mode"? It has a bar that can go up to positive 2 or down to negative 2 and says "For adjusting image brightness."

I hope that when I get some nice pictures, I can get some honest criticism on the LEDs, cause I've only seen it done on one other car before.

Under further inspection, I don't have a white balance adjustment. It's auto. Auto shitty.
I did one LED on each side, and the job took me 11 hours... I'm glad they were inexpensive, but with so much time into em trying to figure out how to get everything to fit, I hope they look good on the road.

Took more pictures tonight and tried the modern version of a standard digi cam. Fixed my lighting woes, and the lighting problems I did have, I know how to fix next time I use it. All my night shots showed off my crack hands, so I need a tripod, and security rushed us on the parking garage (weren't doing anything but loitering), so I didn't have time to work on any angles.

I promise to get good pics of the LEDs, but honest criticism of the wheels I'll take now.

Looks like your not using a tri-pod when taking the pictures. If you are then there is something very wrong. LOL.

Does your camera have full manual setting? Or can you set the ISO speed? If you can drop that ISO number down to 100 or somewhere around there. That will get rid of all the grainy pictures. As for the blur and "lighting bolts" I am pretty sure it's from the camera moving after you take the picture. Your shutter is open for a long time on night shots so you have to have the camera perfectly still. Try turning the timer on on the camera and then taking the picture. That will make sure the camera will not move when you take your hand away from it.

I like the wheels BTW. And From what I can see the LED's are cool to.

Josh

P.S. Check out the Digital Photography Thread in the Off Topic Section Here: Digital Photography Thread Some guys where asking a lot of digital photography questions that I answered that might help you out. Also feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.

The digital camera topic was very helpful yet depressing as I don't have any manual settings on either of my cameras. I bought my gf a Rebel XTI for Christmas, so maybe I can get ahold of that guy and have at the manual settings.
My name is Kassidy, and my hands have a crack addiction.
Tripod will come with on the next shoot.
