Default Sound coming from wheels

Car info: 2002 audi a4 1.8T quattro
  • 94k miles
  • 19x9.5 wheels

There is a sound coming from my wheels. It sounds like crickets and NO one has figured it out yet. I have taken it to 3 different dealers. It sounds like a crazed group of crickets or a bird chirping. The thing is it goes away if i tap or hit the brakes. so I think its something with the brakes. Anyone have any ideas?

Brake pads are prolly rubbing the rotors.. have them looked at for excessive play, hung calipers, or warped rotors.

I use a "rtv like" product that "glues" the pads to the calipers. Stops all brake chatter. As it only takes a dab I have been using the same bottle for brake jobs on about 5 cars for 7 or 8 years. (I think the bottle is still 1/3 full.) Should be easy to find but I'll look for a brand name if you need it.
