is there any chips or any performance parts for a 1996 audi a4 2.8 quattro 12v? i know theres a supercharger thats waaaaay too much money. Any engine swaps? i heard the 2.7tt is a option.

 

The supercharger is for the 30v and no. There's nothing. Absolutely nothing for power. Make it handle better.

 

Also use the search feature. This topic has been covered literally hundreds of times and the end result of every thread is that it either gets locked or everyone reiterates the complete lack of reasonably priced performance upgrades for the 12v. There are none.

 

Yep if you want to upgrade sell it and buy a 1.8t that's what i did, 30v have the superchargers but they are still very pricey, but sound really cool!!!

 

motodyne.com has stuff(supercharger, headers, maf kits,etc) but it is rediculously priced for performance parts. rebuilld the engine high compression pistons and thats about it unless you feel like being creative you can turbo it but u need a welder and a pipe bender plus a nice check book.

 

its all about what you want. if you wanna build a 2.8 12v then do it money shouldn't be the worry. I am probably gonna rebuild my 12 valve and run high compression pistons with the supercharger luckly i found a supercharger remaned for 2200. Then probably sell it and get a s4 but i wanna build my 12v just to show everyone it can be done and be fast.

 

I agree 100% and I hope you actually do the build. That said, I think that most of the people who ask this question are of the "I want to add 150hp for as cheap as humanly possible" school of thought. My dad always said "given enough time and money, anything is possible." That applies here as well. People have done 2.7tt swaps, LS swaps, remote turbos, superchargers, standalone, etc. and so forth. I'm not saying its completely impossible to improve the performance of the 12v, I'm saying there is no "buy a $80 test pipe and bolt on 15hp" or "15 minutes with a GIAC flashloader gives you 60hp" equivalent to the 12v.

 

I def agree with that hell i just got a tru dual 2.25 inch exhaust built from the headers back $750. but i did notice throttle responce and a tad more pick up. my pics show the exhaust changing the tips to dual tips similar to the rs4 in a couple weeks. i will def keep everyone posted as to what i decide to do to my car but i am def doing some kind of performance mod. first i need to find a truck for winter so i can start doing my build. i am glad u responded resonably and didn't just say go buy an s4 lol
