Hi guys I currently own a 97 Audi a4 1.8t all my gears are lit up.
when I put it on reverse it jumps. I also have the check engine light on it read a vacuum leak and a big vacuum leak which they told me could be the gas cap. I fix it and the engine light came off next day it came back on but I still have to get that check. So my problem is what's up with my transmission?or why are all the gears lit up? The transmission was rebuilt 35k miles ago.

 

Transmission issues have been discussed,many times on this forum,a simple search would have yielded,plenty results for you to sort and read.

Search for "transmission" or "PRND" or "safety neutral switch" or "Transmission control module" all these keywords are related to transmission issues.

I'd take it back to where you had your tranny rebuilt,so they can diagnose the issue. Did they offer you some sort of warranty?
