Ok Ive been looking to buy a 96-98 A4. Ive noticed that the trans have issues, whats with that? Someone said its just a simple fix as to get a code deleted? What else is common?
Also What factory mods can be done to the exterior as in whats the difference between the S4 and A4 bumpers? If I pick this up and find a clip from a 05 can I update the whole font end? It looks like the frame base is still the same, similar to what Im used to in the 98-02 Camaro Firebirds, same car just updated clip which bolts on.
Also anybody have any pics of them with 20s? They are pretty cheap on Ebay and want a idea of what they look like.

Not looking to rice it out with aftermarket stuff besides maybe headlights. Want to keep a clean look.

Just gonna give you a heads up now -before someone flames you for it- you're going to want to make use of the search feature and the stickies at the top of the forum before asking newb questions like this. All that you've asked has been extensively covered in other threads as well as those stickies.

Check the sticky "newbie guide" and use the search feature for "things that go wrong with all A4's" and you'll find an answer to most if not all your questions about anything related to the B5 A4. If you still have questions, post up, we'll try to help

 

Also, the trans issue you asked about is going to depend on what engine you look at as well as if you're looking for a manual or an automatic tranny. The newb guide goes over common problems with both engines and both transmissions respectively so definitely give that a browse, it's full of highly useful info.
