i'm looking for a CAN-BUS SIMULATOR or similar, (for my CONCERT II CD in b5 a4...)

the only ones i can find are on german ebay and cost 25euro + 75euro shipping which is a bit too much for me.

The newer audi radios/mmi (like a concert 2 cd) use a different communication system (CAN-BUS) which controls dashboard illumination, ignition switch, external display, etc...

on those radios you have like 2 wires (CAN-BUS LO & CAN-BUS HI) which control all the can-bus functions.

but the older audi radios (like my old Delta CC) use a ''normal'' connection which is like 1 wire for ignition, 1 wire for illumination, 3 wires for the display, etc...

so what happens when you plug in a new(can-bus) radio in a older (non can-bus) car ...it will work, but you won't have radio illumination, it won't know when the ignition is ON or OFF, the radio info won't show up in the cluster display... unless you get a can-bus simulator.

like this one:

but i'm looking for one in us or canada because the shipping prices are way to high from germany and the exchange rate is crappy..

Ahhhhhh gotcha. I dunno man that seems like something you're gonna have to pay a premium for. I'll keep my eye out though.
