Another one I'm deciding about is the Sony XAV-60. this one has a 6.1 wvga screen, 24 bit DAC, rear usb built in ipod controls, low and high pass filters, 3 pairs of pre-amp out puts.

There are many others, but to me , Sony, above all, even though its not very popular like eclipse or alpine or what have you, it really produces a clean sound no matter what kind of CD you put in there. Pioneer has always been known to produce good head units at a reasonable price. You can also go with an Alpine HU, as they have a good DAC as well, and produce clean output preamp signal

I'm in the NYC area, the Bronx specifically, and install systems regularly. Its a bit of a hobby of mine....lolol

BTW, a good resource site is www.crutchfield.com , they are just a bit too expensive for me. www.sonicelectronix.com is a nice place to buy and a way better price and they actually have very detailed pictures of their products.
Would the Sony XAV-60 fit in a B5?

yeah if you took the jensen theres a brake disable code so you can drive while watching movies and what not. i don't know to much about the pioneer sounds like a good deal though.

If you're interested in a DIY, Audi_Skydiver (Josh) from this forum had done a DIY installing that particular system on a B5.
The Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD can change its buttons colors to red, along with the screen's background to red or any other color via custom feature,i am gonna have my buttons and background red ofcorse,as to match my 2001 A4 1.8T's interior ^_^

Thanks for the preview man, that looks clean and flush.

I like your 2000 A4 B5 also,it's a BEAST! Do you have the Relay video bypass installed,so you can play video, while the car is driving?

i didnt use the relay method i put in a 2-way switch
that i ran to the glove box so its hidden
its pretty simple plus if you get pulled over you can quickly flip
the switch to turn the screen off. and thanks for thecompliment

I didn't want to fool around with a switch,i rather it be something i didn't have to think about, just start her up and go.

Your welcome,do right by her and keep her synthetic changed and other fluids, she'll thank you for it by starting up every single time ^_^
