Default Loose Parking Break

I've been searching around, can't find anything. I practically pull the parking brake through the sunroof to get the car to stay. Can I adjust the cable tension from inside the car? Please let me know what you guys think, I figured this would be a really easy job. Thanks

well first check the rotors and pads. i think there's a adjuster under the car, but i'm not sure exactly where, to adjust the tension of the cable.

Isn't the parking brake separate from the hydraulic brakes?

Yes. You have to adjust the cable at each one of the back brakes. Just take the wheels off that tighten the cable adjuster nut. Be sure to check to see that you have a good amount of brake pad left, and this isn't just a sign that it's time to replace the pads.

i seem to recall reading in my haynes manual that the adjuster is somewhere in the exhaust tunnel. let me know where you find yours because mine could use some adjusting too.

even if your rear pads were gone or if they were brand new, the handle should still travel the same distance because the ebrakes are self-adjusting. the cable itself might have stretched over time and there is an adjustment for that, but the breaks themselves auto-adjust for pad wear.
