Well, you're in for a surprise if you think you saved money by doing this.
Blah, I can't keep my mouth shut on this one. This exactly. If you can't afford to lower your car right now, don't. Going the "cheap route" will only result in a negative outcome, spending 1,600 on a car is great, but why trash it immediately?
I bet you can drive over a cigarette and tell if its filtered or non-filtered. My coilovers were only $550 shipped. When you cut your springs, you are taking away from the stability and structure of your spring. I've seen springs that have been cut and develop cracks because of the cutting. Also, keeping your stock shocks is a bad idea. They will blow if they havent already and you will bottom out possibly causing your oilpan to bust. Your control arms and bushing are also gonna have the snot beat out of them because your set-up is ghetto. You may have saved a couple bucks now, but replacing control arms, new bushings, alignments cause your springs will keep making it go out of wack, possibly new oil pan, etc...is gonna cost you. Just a word of advice, might be a good idea to put your stock springs back on so you don't get stuck with a fat bill and a car you can't drive. Sorry if that came off harsh, but serious...this ain't a Honda.
