The other day, the lower coolant hose came off (naturally, lost all fluid).
The connection seems to be just a 'push on' with clip.
I tried to push as hard as I can, clip on.

To avoid repeat failure:
- Are those prone to coming off?
- Is the connection getting 'weak' or wearing out?
- what can I do to insure that it won't come off again?

Any tips/suggestions/experiences are appreciated.

That lower hose should be what you are referring to as a "quick connect" hose. What is the condition of the clip? The clip on my '96 is rusted to **** but still holding firm. I believe that would be the weakest link.

How is the connection to the radiator? It should slide over pretty snug and then snap, you should hear it, in place.
