Default Lower Door Molding Question.

I searched but couldn't find a definite answer.

Will a 1997 front driver side door lower molding fit a 1999.5? Both are Audi A4.

I now I can get one new at ecstuning.com but there is a local 1997 car parting out.

I just want to make sure since I have a 1999.5.

Thanks guys!

Better off just paying $40-$50 for a new molding piece. Why are you gonna put on an old one with the metal strips insided that will rust out anyway? Also the screwthat holds it in (on the front inside the door) may be seized in there, and the nut inthe moldingmay rip out - that's what happened taking my old one out. Just my 2 cents. I replaced the driver's side with a new molding 2 weeks ago. Anyway, yes, they should be interchangeablefrom 97 to 99.5.

Yes they are definately interchangeable.... But not worth it, his wont be in any better shape than yours, and as said by the dude above ^... The one screw up by the hing side of the door does seize pretty often, You'll need vice-grips & plyers to get it out.... or in my case I ended up drilling it out. Just spend the money and get new ones.... might aswell buy a set of 4 and replace them all, they will all go eventually.

With that said, buy ~6 new screws... and 20~24 new clips. Yours are probably broken / dirty / rusty, and the extra $5 for all th at stuff is worth it.

Tip: Before sliding the new side mouldings on, spray everything down with WD40 so it slides easier... if you miss a clip, it can be a HUGE bich to slide off, the WD40 helps with that, aswell as ease of intsallation. Make sure everything is lined up and level too.
