lug stud conversion kit...

I just don't see why the Audi engineers would intentionally design something like this into these cars. The more sensible option is to use lug studs. I see no advantage to using those damn lug bolts... only frustration.

I might be blowing this a bit out of proportion, but I still want this conversion. I had my brother bring home a conversion kit from his shop, but the lug stud diameters were a bit too small. It was a little anticlimactic.

They do it so the head and stud are one piece. Less likely to strip/break. Plus studs can get ugly. A lot easier to replace a lug bolt than to swap studs.

Damnit... that makes sense. Maybe I'll just pull it together and find an easier, repeatable process to put these things in. I give in. You win.

Why spend $16.95 for a line up pin? Go to the hardware and get a bolt the size of the wheel lug and cut off the head and drill a hole in it. Very simple and takes just a few minutes to do.
