Default MAF

so my engine light is on and i my RPMs are going crazy when my car is idle. also when it is really hot out my car has a hard time turning over when i start it, but in the morning or at night when its cool it starts fine. so i went to get my engine light diag at the stealership, and they gave me the code 17544 meaing to lean, so they said my vacuum lines at the intake were bad and i possibly needed a MAF. so i did the vacuum lines and now i need to do the MAF.
my question is where is the MAF(i have a 1.8t AEB), and has anybody had a similar issue and what was the problem???

Default RE: MAF

its in between the intake and TIP. should be sitting in the stock airbox at the top

you can see it in this pic. its in between the filter and the heatshield on the passenger side of the engine bay. you'll have the stock airbox instead but its still in the same location. has a electrical connection on the top of it
