Werre would i begin to look for and electrical malfunction with my malfunction light, ive pulled my cluster no tampering with wiring as far as i could tell, the malfunction light lights up on initial startup (from off to acc) but its dim then goes away,

 

If your talking about when you turn the key but without starting the car it lights up then goes away then that's normal. All your lights should light up (abs, cel, brake, etc.) and then go away after a few seconds, it's just the car doing initial checks

 

Dim is normal as well, it is a bulb instead of an led for some reason. (assuming you have a 1998+ cluster)
