Mandatory Trunk Inspection!
As the AF Trunk Moderator I would like to know what tools/supplies you keep with you in the trunk of your daily driver. I'll start.
In addition to the OEM first aid kit and tool kit, I carry a small bag in the back of my car containing the following:
-1 Roll of paper towels
-1 quart of Mobil1 0-w40 Synthetic
-1 can of power steering fluid
-1 can of brake/clutch fluid
-2' of 1" heater hose
-6 hose clamps of assorted sizes
-4 coilpacks
-a small funnel
-AC/DC power inverter
-small set of metric sockets, wrenches, allen keys
-random hand tools, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
-2 bungie cords
-4 ratcheting tie-down straps
-spare headlight, tail light, back up and turn signal bulbs
-tire pressure gauge
-two folding knives and a leatherman multi-tool
-100' of 550 cord
-5 extra lug bolts
-small flash light
In the spare tire well, along with the spare tire, I have a 20' nylon tow strap and a nice LONG set of jumper cables. I also have a blanket, a gallon of windshield washer fluid and (hopefully not for much longer) a snow brush/ice scraper. All under an OEM cargo net. Nothing is tied down so if I need the extra space I can pick the bag up and put it in one of the passengers' foot well. For longer trips I also fill up a 1 gallon gas can and throw that guy in the back.

Damn, thats a lot to carry around all the time. It all sounded reasonable enough until I got to "-spare headlight, tail light..." I'm thinking oh gosh whats next a fender??
Then I saw you just meant bulbs, fair enough.
Your list does give me some good ideas for road trips though.
On the daily I've got a spare quart of oil, 4 way philips/slotted screwdriver, metric allen key set, a knife, 2 flashlights, some spare fuses, 3 flares (something I didn't see on your list), and the OEM stuff.

Interesting you asked about the flares. I always had at least three in my old Bronco, but when I moved to VA I've had a very tough time finding them. The local autozone said they dont sell flares anymore???
You must go through a ton of the washer fluid to carry another gallon with you. The reservoir holds about a gallon alone.
I have a latching plastic tool box that I strap down in my trunk. In it I've got:
-A blanket and fleece pullover
-Tow strap and D-rings
-A set of metric wrenches
-A set of metric deep sockets
-Breaker bar and 2' section of gas pipe for extra leverage
-Gloves
-1-2 quarts of extra oil
-30' of rope
-Spare bulbs
-BIG hammer
-Jumper cables
-D-cell maglite
-Vice grips/screw drivers/knife
-Fuses
I also threw out the dinky spare for a full sized one.

I bought a spare wheel to do this but never got around to putting a tire on it lol
Do they sell flares in quantities smaller than 36...?
Chris, everything is for sale on the internet!
flare - Galls

Always be prepared!
Could you guys do us auto tech's a small favor and empty the trunk before bringing the car in for service? Otherwise we have to spend 10 minutes unloading/loading stuff just to check the air in the spare tire, and then try to get it all back in the same spot. Thanks!

I don't use a ton of it, but I have a habit of not checking it and I can't stand when the low washer fluid light is on and beeping at me all the god damn time. I usually stop and fill up the reservoir as soon as the light comes on.
