Um yeah you need a tune for that turbo and any other specific parts (like upsized injectors, which you need). Read the stickies at the top of the forums. That's why they're up there. Plan on a decent amount more investment to make it run right, or return it and buy a turbo system that is supported fully by the ECU tuners.

Sorry - point is, the boost characteristics are very different between that turbo and a K03 so you need to plan for it tuning-wise and with other supporting mods.

Sounds like you jumped into a big project before doing the necessary homework, good luck.

You need a tune for that particular turbo and whichever injectors you swap out and use. If it's not an off-the-shelf tune from a distributor, you're looking at paying for a custom ECU tune on the dyno. You'll need a better intercooler. You'll choke the potential output without a downpipe and exhaust as well. It's not lke throwing a bigger turbo on an 89 RX7 - these cars are regulated pretty heavily by their electronics and blindly upgrading will **** off the OBD2 monitoring and possibly break things.

The sticky posts are at the top of every page of this subforum. The ones titled "FAQ" and "New Owners Check In Here" are the giveaways.

Oh, the MAF is fine. It's the least of your worries. And I forgot to mention that you may need a clutch too. Count on $500-600 for that and at least that much for install labor, possibly more.

you are looking at about $3-$4,000 more to get this up and running...

clutch/install = $1000+
exhaust mani = $250+
injectors = $250
tune = 750
Down pipe, test pipe, full exhaust = $1000ish
front mount = $250 if you go the cheap route, mine was $1495
turbo inlet / maf / filter / DV = $500+

i did some research and i found out that its not to hard to put a t3 turbo in the audi's i do need my ecm done tho. i have my clutch i have my intercooler the only thing i dont have right now is the injectors but with the people i spoke to they said install it first then see how it runs most likely im gonna need injectors lets try it without first lol, but im not gonna get a exuast pipe im just gonna cut the cat and run a pipe to the first muffler.im also gonna need a custom pipe for the maf sensor. so far i spent 980 without injectors. but when my mod is done i push between 250 and 280 i think. if im doing something wrong please correct me

Youre going to need quite a bit of stuff to run a setup like that.
Is the turbo internally wastegated? If not, you'll need a wastegate with a dump setup. You'll need an exhaust manifold, downpipe/cat setup, exhaust, YOU WILL NEED INJECTORS, a tune, oil lines, clutch, intake setup, fmic, a bigger MAF housing, different fuel pressure regulator, and other stuff too, thats just off the top of my head.
I have a custom aluminum "vr6" maf housing that your sensor fits into for sale. This is the housing that every tuning setup requires for the most part. Shoot me a pm if you want it.
