Default message on my car's dashborad

So my can says "ins 2" on my dashboard. I read the manual and it said I needed a service or something. Problem is that I don't get my car serviced anymore. So why exactly is it going off? Can I do anything myself to make it go away?

its probably telling you its time for a ~15k interval service or something.
do you have the owners manual? i think it says in there how to reset service lights.
if you dont have an owners manual search for "how to reset service indicator" it should tell you

2nd inspection? i think the procedure to reset it is throgh the clock and reset *****. u push the reset one in for so long untill i beleive the ins 2 will start blinking or somthing like that then u relese the reset **** and pull out the clock ****. i know this works for one of the audis but not sure how many will work like this. that is the procedure we know at the lube shop for reseting oil lights on audi's. im not looking at the book right now but if that doesent work pm me with car details and i'll look at the reset book at work.

I've had this light on since I bought my car last November. I have tried both versions of the clock and odometer reset ***** to no avail. Looks like I'll be staring at the damn light a little while longer.

um. yeah It does work if you are smarter than your car.
I dont have the owners manual right in front of me, but it seems like you:
Press and hold the right button. (odometer reset)

now switch on the ignition
(oil lamp will light up)

press the right button again
(insp is now displayed)

pull left button. (clock set)
(------ are now displayed)

you might have to press the right button another time to get to insp2 if i remember correctly?

Default Service lights

I have only ever turned these off with a scan tool.

Vag-com or Snap on with the appropriate software. (not generic)

Good luck.
