Im wondering if anyone knows if the pre 99 mirror glass is the same size as the 98, 97 etc. glass size... (the reflective part decided to start rapidly rotting away, and on both sides) The reason why I ask is that i have seen pre 99 mirror housing listed as the same part as earlier years, but not for the glass. Rockauto has really cheap replacment glass for a 98 and before but not for a pre 99. ECStuning has replacments for a 99 for sure but is quite a bit more expensive, so im wondering if anyone knows the answer because id prefer to go with the cheaper ones. Thanks

 

97-99 should be the same - 99.5-01 should also be the same - they are not interchangeable.

You mainly have to judge by the size of the housings. My pre-facelift 99 has a full-size passenger door mirror (same size as the driver's side, which would be expected on a facelift 99.5 or newer car). If your passenger mirror is the same size as the driver one, order 99.5-01 glass. If it's smaller, order 97-99 glass.
