Well guess what I heard today? Popping nose.

Let me ask you, does your car seem jumpy at lower RPM's because mine does and then when it revs up, it runs great since I reset it, but at lower RPM's this thing is a turd.

Wondering if I need to replace my DV valve now too.

A rough idle is usually due to a sensor problem. Which is likely the maf sensor. But the popping at wot with hesitation I'm assuming is the DV. I'm almost sure of this. I can do half throttle and boost fine, but at wot is when the problem starts.

Alright, I'm hoping someone can explain this weirdness, or maybe it's simple.

I cleaned out the MAF today and decided, what the heck, I left the MAF and the air filter out of the car to drive down my street, and the car SCARED ME, literally I was startled by how unbelievably more powerful the car felt.

WTF?

Maybe I've got a bad maf, or what.... but is this like normal.

Ha ha. Don't get too excited. Running with no maf sensor will cause the car to run like crap very quickly. At idle, the rpm's will jump around like crazy and the engine will just shut off. The engine will also struggle to return to idle every time you come to a stop and will pretty much turn off every time. You should put everything back asap. See about getting a new DV and see if that helps your situation out

Not according to Mike, and my experience today after driving 150 miles with no maf has been amazing.

Well guys, all I can say is I must have a problem with my MAF, the car is faster, idles smoother, runs better and the mileage is even better with than with the MAF. Before the car idled at 2000 RPM and now 1200RPM nice and smooth, it also pulls through the whole power band. Ever gear has power. Unlike before, where my car felt like a brick 99% of the time.

I just drove the crap out of it. So I'm going to wait to for it cool off, plug my MAF back in and if it runs like crap again, then I guess I need a new one.

A matter of fact I was really disappointed that I was getting bet by civics and scions, and two I blew away two civics and an eclipse.

It's like a whole other car. You're just going to have to believe me.

So I'm assuming that right now I've located my problem, bad MAF sensor.

That's awesome then. I guess there's a really big difference with 2001 b5's. The driveability is zero with no maf on my 2000. Oh and guess what, I got a flashing cel today. So it is a damn misfire! It took this long for it to studder bad enough to make it finally pop up. Hopefully its just one coil pack. I'll check the code tomorrow.

I just checked it and it said a misfire was detected in cylinder #4. So I guess I'll be ordering a new coil pack and call it a day.
