misfire under heavy load

Default misfire under heavy load

like the title says..thought it was the plugs soo changed new bkr7e's. its a 97 a4 1.8t. GIAC . no codes or cel. help

probably a coil or 2, mine missed in like 3 cyclinders if i got up over 5 or 6 psi, and never through a cel, i'd check the coils for sure, you can get 4 for like 100+ shipping from fcpgroton.com. if thats the route you choose.

Basic question, but you are using 91 or over right? I'd assume so considering your chipped, but its most likely coil packs. cheap on ecs

Also, what are your plugs gapped to?

^^^my first thought too - OP you did gap them down to .028" right? If so, and you're still misfiring, try going down to .026" and see if it runs. If it does, you probably hve weak coils. Although if you have scanned and have no codes, I wonder if something else is wrong - you should have codes and a flashing CEL if you are misfiring.
