I want/ need more. i have the 2.8 30v. i am about to do a timing belt job so i do believe it makes sense to do light cam gears, light crank pulley, and some other pulleys for decreased rotational mass? what else could be some easy acceleration.

 

It's been said that those pulleys do very little on these cars, far less than their cost will justify. If you want to gain speed, do the small stuff - get a Speedtuning chip (inexpenaive and peak HP gain is only maybe 5-6 but midrange torque gain is noticeable and very nice). A high-flow resonator and muffler can liven it up a little, and you can remove weight. Beyond that, start shopping for superchargers or blue bottles.

 

so there is a noticeable difference with the speedtuning, or is it really all in the mind? I want to chip mine so badly. I've read threads of people saying its good, but i wish i can get more testimonials of chipping the v6.

 

I drove Hiwords' B5 before and after the chip and the difference was noticeable. It's not like a 1.8T of course but you can feel the difference in the midrange. Peak gains are minimal but the midrange torque increase was nice and the car seemed to pull more smoothly throughout the powerband.

 

any time you want to add power to you car something breaks right. oild pan today ha.

but i wont do pulleys if they are useless i will do a chip and exhaust for now its goign to get a sc in a month or two once all these damn problems go away.
