You should only be using 5w40 if you go Mobil. Anything else should be illegal. Also, if you wanted to run 5w30 or 10w30, then Pennzoil Platinum/Ultra are the way to go. I run M1 5w40 in my A4 and PP in my G8.

PO BROUGHT her own mobil 1 5w-40 to the dealer, but did it every 10k for the first 50k then every 5-7k from then till 129xxx, when I picked it up.

Guess whos oil pressure light came on within the first 6 hours of driving the car, seconds after first doing a 2nd gear WOT pull?

I do mine every 3k or before. No exceptions.

I use mobil1 but thats because my mom has a 8v 2002 jetta that has 181k, shes used mobil1 since first driving it home from the lot

In Minnesota, the Audi dealers here use Mobil 1 0w40. So that's what I've been using.

Okay. I shall revise my recommendation to include both 0w40 and 5w40. Just looked it up and it is a European car oil. (European formula oils generally protect better while American formula oils are geared for that bit extra gas mileage because Americans are dumb that way)
