Default more exhaust questions.

Awhile ago i posted about buying a muffler.
Well i went with it, and bought my Magnaflow street series.

I took the car to a muffler shop, and they want 175 dollars to put it on

they also gave me a few options. he told me there are two mufflers, one farther back on the pipe (i believe its the resinator) and he doesnt know if i want it removed and the pipe ran straight to the magnaflow or to leave it on and just replace the muffler.

what should i do?
is the price reasonable?
Thanks for the imput guys. i appriciate the help.

price sounds reasonable to me. it's all personal preference. without the resonator the exhaust note will be louder (do you want that) or do you want a quieter note?

well im kind of on the fence about this.
i like it loud if it has some class to it
but at the same time i hate that sawed off honda civic fart can ridiculously loud half *** ricey muffler job sound.

but i dont want it to sound only a tiny bit louder than stock.
but he'll most likely charge me more to take the resonator off.
if i take the resonator off, will the magnaflow not sound like ricey junk?

I don't know what engine you have but here is a magnaflow on a 2.8 with no resonator or mid-muffler

and here is one with the stock piping

and one on a 12v (this is all stock except for the muffler)

i really like the video with the stock piping, not too loud.
but i think the 175 im getting charged is a little much, youtube members are saying it only cost them 60. hm

Yeah man thats total bullshit... i paid 65 all said and done (included parts, labor, shop fee and tax) to have my borla installed... i took my stock off by myself but with one person putting it up was near impossible and i needed an extension about 6in so he jsut cut it in half and gave me about a foot and a half of stainless tubing....

SO IMO you are getting jewd ... whats his reasoning for the $175? if you already have the muffler is the 175 for install or........????? thats rediculous
