Default motor swap time.

im swapping my new motor in on saturday. im not doing it myself i have a certified vw/audi mechanic helpin me do the swap. i dont really know much about a full motor swap, so anyone have advice? anything i should look out for, any tips that will help me out?

the guy thats helpin me has done it before, but i know he dosent know EVERYTHING so any lil pointers i can bring with me would help.

i have all new belts, new gaskets and new fluids....anything else i need? (and i have the tools too)

thanks guys. ill let you know how it turns out. im so excited!!!!

and for anyone that dosent know y im doing this its cause i blew my timing and pretty much blew up the head about 3 weeks ago, so you can imagine how much im lookin foward to saturday.

i still have it and its pretty bad. a valve got jammed in a cylinder and kept bangin up and down into the head, so you can imagine what it looks like. where the spark plug goes is no longer round and the seats are pretty bad also.

Damn, thats pretty bad. If you just remove the front end you should be fine. Just take your time and im sure you guys can get it done in a day or 2

the front end is off already. hes sayin just a day which im really hopin is possible i cant wait much longer haha. i havent driven a 5 speed in 3 weeks i miss it haha.

other then that though its just like a regular swap im guessing? all i really need to replace is the gaskets, belts and fluids right? any sensors i should do while im in there?? money is gettin a lil tight right now, so im just doing what i have to, to get it in there. i would love to do new mounts right now but dont have the $$$. the one thing that sucks about needing a motor swap is i dont have the time to collect every part i really wanna change while im in there. [:@]. ill keep this posted though, hopefully by sunday i have some good news.
