Unhappy My Audi Problem(s)

Hello,

I've been searching for this problem but I have not been able to locate it. Whenever my car turns on there is a loud whining noise and it never goes away. It seems to get louder when I accelerate and it is very loud even when idling. People can hear me coming from hundreds of feet away. Here is the video that I recorded on my phone. It's not the greatest quality but I hope someone can tell where it might be coming from.

Also, this was a flood car so there are some other problems as well. The power locks do not work but windows do. The cruise control doesn't work and the tiptronic doesn't as well. I am most concerned about the locks and cruise control though. Anyone have an idea on how much that would cost to fix?

Thanks for the help,
Andrew

a vid while driving would be nice too... does it whine when shifting still or does it pause during shifts?

Try the simple thing first, remove the serpentine belt and see if the noise goes away. If it goes away with the belt removed then it can either be the PS pump, belt tensioner, or alternator. Obviously do not run the car for a long period of time without the belt as that will drain the battery.

lol i've been driving it like this for over a year now... yeah it's probably not smart, i think it still makes the noise while shifting but i'll be sure to confirm that when i take it out for a drive in a bit

they did have to replace something under the passenger floor mat i believe but that is all they did... i'm not very great with cars so sorry if i can't give the greatest details

In response to Mr. Phil, the car does whine while it shifts it just seems to be quieter when the rpms are lower. I found a guide to take off the belt so I will do that as soon as possible and i'll let you know the outcome Distilled.
