Default My newest mod is in - LED running lights

Just finished installing these about an hour ago. Sorry about the crappy pics (my phone's camera sucks), but I'll take some with my real camera to post as a followup later. In these pics, they appear to be "bars" but in person you can see each individual LED on the strip and they look awesome. FYI, the color temperature appears to be around 8000k (my HIDs are 6000k and appear whiter than the LEDs). I used a switch under the dash to power them, and tied the power into the switched ignition post under there, so regardless of switch position, they won't power on unless the key is turned on.

I bought this set for $16 shipped:

Here's the crappy pics - as I said, better ones to follow:

Ive been looking into doing that myself. looks really good. Did you do it in the lower itself? And how did you cut the strip? Since it said it was 30 cm im assuming that you cut it in half cus otherwise thatd be way long.

They are VERY bright - they lit my whole garage As for the length, I didn't cut them. If I did, it may have have messed them up. They're in the lower itself, in the grilles out at the edges. The LED strips are somewhat rigid and will hold their form if they're bent. I bent them inward at the ends, and tucked the excess length inside the lower. I used pieces of a molding from Lowe's to make mounts for them, and attached them to the molding pieces, and bent the excess LED strip over the end of the molding and into the lower, so they'd be just the right length. Came out nicely

Nice, yeah I did the same thing just before winter they look clean. Too bad two LEDs failed on one side.. the other side is just fine though. They sent me a new strip but i havent felt like putting it in with the cold and stuff but ill get around to it.

I hear ya. It was well below freezing yesterday (in the teens) when I started, and the propane tank for my heater in my garage was empty. Thankfully, Hiwords forgot his electric space heater when he finished his S4 spring install so with the door shut, that kept it tolerable (barely). By the time I finished, it was -1 outside and I was VERY cold, but it was worth the discomfort. I love the look and I'm physically and psychologically incapable of having the parts for a car mod lying around and NOT installing them.

I forget how lucky I am to have a big *** heated shop to work in... Looks pretty neat but not sure if its something I would do or not. I'll probably just wire up the driving light that my E-codes come w/.
