Out of curiosity, what made you choose this setup over a GTRS or GT2871r elim?

not having to buy new injectors, fmic, new tuning, ect... with the setup.

i like to upgrade as i go instead of saving forever. and who knows, maybe ill still do it later.

You'll need injectors, FMIC, new tuning, and 2.5 or larger dp to see any gains from that setup. That's kind of what I was getting at. Replacing a blown turbo with a K04 and leaving it alone, I can understand, but to spend so much on a modified K04, manifold, ect doesn't make sense unless you plan on doing everything else.

i already have 2.5" turbo-back exhaust, and i don't need bigger injectors and a fmic until i want to get the hammer file.

its more of a i can upgrade this for now and be fine until the next step, unlike a gtrs setup where u have to do it all or nothing. also, upgrading the ecu is only $200 compared to paying $890 for bt files from unitronic.

but in a way you are right, i am eventually leading to getting all of those things put in so a bigger turbo would make more sense, i would just have to wait a long while to do it.

So i finished things up finally today and all i can say is it feels like my car got chipped again, haha. feels like ive gained 35+ hp or so then i had with the chipped k03, i put in a 5 Bar FPR and reflashed my car so I have the Hammer file now. I guess u don't need bigger injectors and a TT 225 Maf for the hammer file, so that works out not having to spend more money

I feel more power through more of the rpm range, it doesn't die off nearly like the k03 did. If anyone is looking for a mild/descent upgrade i would say the hybrid K04 is the way to go.
