Need help! 99.5 audi a4 rough idle loss of power
I recently bought my second audi a4. Its a 99.5 audi a4 1.8t quattro. My problem is when i start the car it has a rough idle between 800-1000. If im in 1st from a dead stop the car has soooo little acceleration and after about 2500rpm itll accelerat faster/normal? I am new to the 1.8t motor. im not getting any codes and my engine light is off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Awesome I'll pick some up tomorrow and see if that rectifies the problem or not. Also I can't find the right size bulbs for my back interior lights and the front. They're small and push/twist in. They're not the ones with two pieces of metal on either side of the bulb. Any ideas? And thanks for all the help guys I really appreciate it

Hey I have sort of the same problem. I don't have a rough idle, but more vibration than normal, and it's pretty sluggish taking off in first compared to a 1.8t jetta. I just bought it yesterday it's a 98 a4 quattro.
If you have any vibration here's a thread to fix it:

I'm going to try everything mentioned. Also, is your gas pedal hard to push? Mine is, I'm going to clean out the throttle body and check the accel cable, maybe replace it. I'll probably do a seafoam run.
I'm changing out the coil packs and spark plugs too.
I'll update here if anything improves...
