Ok to help lets start off with a little more information.
What motor? 1.8t or 2.8 v6
Can you better describe what you mean by takes a long time? what are the symptoms? crank but no fuel? no crank? and how long is a long time? 30 seconds 3 mins 30 mins?

Starter or solenoid?

My car wouldn't start for me after driving it. I would have to let it cool for about 10 minutes which made pumping gas interesting. It turned out to be a bad starter

If it starts fine when cold then I would say Temp. sensor.
