Need Help: Oil Change, Drain plug question
just wanted to say thanks techbod and everybody for clearning this issue... And no i have not figured out ow to get the filter out the right way... Thanks for the heads up.
Now... did you find out how to get the filter out without turning your subframe into a catch-pan?
just dont drop it or tip it over when you take it out and you shouldnt get more then a few drips of oil in your engine compartment.
ps. i ALWAYS forget to reattach the coolant level sensor, if you get a coolant light on your dash this is your problem.
As stated, unscrew the coolant bottle and unplug the level sensor.
Cut the bottom off a gallon jug and place it under the filter. Use a pig mat or absorbent pad under that and a regular oil catch pan under the car.

Unscrew the filter and pour it into the jug. Pull the filter up through the top. Clean it all up with brake clean.
