Default steering rack help needed

I have a2001.5 A4 1.8T Quattro with Tip with 90,000miles. The power steering rack is spewing fluid all over the drivers side inner fender. I have done my research and read the article for how to replace it. Im clear on all that but here are my questions:
1) could I just replace the seal on the rack i have now since that seems to be the part that always fails, instead of buying a new/reman rack?
2) I have found steering racks on carsteering.com is this the best and most affordable if i go with a reman?
3) How can I tell whether or not i have a Koyo rack or a ZF rack to replace it? since i have the 1.8T i need the rack without the strut/stabilizer, correct?

I plan on tackling this project along with a possible full set of new control arms for the front end since a creak is starting to develop. (i thought it was from the passenger side but while rotating the tires heard it coming from drivers side, alothough i didnt notice and torn up or damaged looking bushings.) suggestions?
