Question Need opinions!

I started a new job a few months ago, and am looking to buy a new car. I know this thread is all over the place, but I didn't want to hijack someone elses thread, and I need solid opinions from you guys.

I am definitely set in stone about getting an S4. I am however torn between late B6 or early B7. I know the engine/drivetrain will have very little variation, and interiors will be very similar. But I need your guys opinion on which exterior you prefer.

I seriously am having the hardest time deciding on this, and if you guys have any other deciding factors I should know of, please let me know.

Otherwise I may take suggestions on similarly equipped vehicles. Performance-Luxury is my goal.

Thanks in advance!

edit-I also am asking you guys because you won't be biased due to ownership. B6 owners always lean towards B6, B7 owners always lean that way.

get the b7 S4 or b6 s4 ultrasport, both are beautiful and for sure stay with audi. my uncle has a red b7 s4 and i love staring at it when its in the garage. the b7 is a little bit better looking as i still am not attracted to the b6's "A6" curvy look, but i do love the ultrasports kit and stock rims. good luck in your find

Thanks for the replies guys. I had been for the exterior of the B7, but the price difference is noticeable between the two body styles. But I figure if I do get B7, it'll probably keep an updated look longer. Personally, I think the front end of B6 is getting a little old. But i still do love that ***!

this is not my car, but i know the owner, he is a nice guy took really good care of the car

2004 Audi S4

Let me just start by saying that this car is awesome. When I bought this car I had it narrowed down between a (E46) BMW M3, (C5) Corvette, and WRX STi. Well, my wife ruled out the Corvette and the WRX, which left me with the M3 and S4. After driving both I decided to purchase the S4. Here’s why- I liked the driving experience of the S4 better, it’s AWD, has more HP (340HP 4.2L V8), is more luxurious, and it has four doors which makes it more versatile.

I have only owned this car for about four months and would not be selling it, but I have a baby girl on the way and would like to eliminate car payments.

Here are a few highlights:
· 340 Horsepower 4.2L V8
· All Wheel Drive
· Power Leather Recaro Seats (with memory)
· Dual Climate Control
· Sunroof
· Folding Rear Seats
· Homelink

Car has approx. 77xxx miles on it. Clean CARFAX (VIN# WAUPL68E04A169747)

Asking price is $18,964 (which is below kbb and one of the cheapest V8 S4’s in the country).

Personal opinion:
I like the looks of the B6 more than the B7. A nicely done B6 is my favorite A4.

How would you define nicely done? Being an S4, I wouldn't want to alter the body. I would lower it, and get 19's. But what else set's it off?

B5 S4 all the way, the 2 gt2871r turbo's replacing the k03's, probably cost the same as a newer B6 or B7 S4

Lowered nicely with some nice rims and some good looking brakes (Stock clean up nicely or performance). Mainly for an S4 I just like things that set them off that are functional. No changes just for the purpose of changing something.

Truthfully I would love t pick up a B6 S4 in either silver or grey, add some tint, rims, brakes and lower it a little possibly. Then just maintain and drive, upgrading anything else with performance items as they go bad. Maybe one of these days I can convince myself 1 car is better than 4.
