The width does not make any difference when it comes to Quattro. It's the diameter that matters.

so do you think i will need spacers up front to clear s4 brakes?? what size tires do i need to get to not mess up my quattro car?? i want 225 35 19 up front to avoid rubbing and having to roll fenders.

wut offset are they? You should go ask the S4 guys but I think you'll need spacers in the rear. The front might be fine with the size tire you put up. I'm running 235/40 on 18x8 all around with 35mm offset without spacers, lowered on HnR race springs and no rubbing at all. It barely clears everything though. You can take my size and compare it with what you want and see the difference in size. I wouldn't get bigger tires than what I have though.

Wow. Your car will understeer sooooo bad with a staggered setup. 9.5" wide rims will likely rub the shocks. You can use wheel spacers, but you'll be hacking up the fenders to get them to fit. The widest you can go safely without body work is 8" wide wheels with 235mm wide tires. 19" rims will also significantly increase unsprung weight and will ruin ride quality. In other words, your car will handle and ride better with 18" rims.
