I just purchased a 2001 audi a4 2.8l ,5 spd with 150,000,car runs great ,but no owner manual, I have a light in the message area of dash , it shows a yellow circle with a number 1 on outside upper left side a circle and in the middle of circle is MPH,what is this and why?I have many other question about this a4 but for just this one,thanks

 

I believe that's the speed warning light. It just beeps at you whenever you surpass a certain speed (set by you). I think the idea was to set it at your local speed limit so if you weren't paying attention and went above it, it would beep at you to let you know you were going above the limit.

edit: The reason there's a '1' in the corner is because there's multiple warning lights. You can have a second one at a higher speed.
