I'm new to the forum, and to Audi, but I'm interested in buying a 2001 A4 1.8T quattro. The particular car I'm looking at only has 47k miles and looks to be really clean. It's out of state, so I'd like to make a trip to go see it this weekend.

I'm hoping someone could provide a little buying advice - anything unusual to be sure to check on the car, particular questions for the dealer? Also, do I really have to be afraid of all the maintenance problems I've seen posted on this forum and elsewhere? What sorts of preventative maintenance and upkeep are essential to avoiding big problems down the road?

Any tips along these lines would be greatly appreciated!

I bought my 01 with 75k on it and i have put on 8k so far and no problem's and i have looked and that's pretty low mileage for our car's .
