That's unusual. Im not sure why that would happen, maybe APR will replace it for free. So I'm assuming that if the snub was being installed, then the motor went in? Sounds like its pretty close. Looking forward to it.

I've also gone to a custom exhaust shop and they could set me up with a 2.5 inch custom pipe to a magnaflow exhaust for $350. Also, any suggestions on a couple hundred dollar aftermarket headlights? My lights are so bad its dangerous. I know this is alot, but any advice or personal experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So someone is charging you $200 to install a $300 GIAC tune?

Man I need to start installing tunes vs just selling parts.

Default Power Upgrades - Steps

There have been tons posts with questions like this. I joined the forum for the same reason. There is a great sticky about the various turbo upgrades,

https://www.audiforums.com/forum/b5-models-69/1-8t-turbo-upgrade-information-93439/

their corresponding power levels, and additional prerequisites. The long term members and experts here definitely have the answers, but they are in bits and pieces over hundreds of posts.

I would love to see a sticky to address what I consider the 2 most often found starting points:
a) I want a bit more power, but not spend much
b) My turbo is failing/gone, what can I do but not spend much

for a) it may start with: Stage 1 chip (name a few common ones), $xxx, peak hp gain yyyy, peak torque gain zzzz. Stage 2 chip ($xxxx) plus mod1 ($yyy) etc to Elim Trubo

for b) it may start with: have turbo professional rebuilt ($xxxx) plus chip ($yy), or find good used K04 ($xxx) plus tune ($yyy) plus mods ($zzz) ...

It seems a lot of people out there would benefit. It may be mundane for experts, but helpful for the nubies who typically come here for exactly that reason (finding answers and advice).

Funny you should say that, because I sold my old giac K04 tune (non pc-16) for $300, and the guy wanted me to give him a better price. I contacted AWE just to see how much they cost and they wanted $600 for a retune

Lol, the guy I sold it to was very thorough in researching exactly what he needed, so there were no problems there. He was a cool guy too, I met him at my dads house in CT.

I think I sold my apr single program for $250, and I sold some random ecu with a Nuespeed P-chip on it for like 250 also, that one was never on my car tho so I'm not sure it was for a manual or auto, the noob that bought it never contacted me after I sent it so whatever.
