Holy crap I feel like a moron. Looked all over. Key wont open the trunk for some reason. The car is on "e" and no way to get the fuel door open. 1996 A4...I dont remember my 98 being anything difficult.

If anyone knows of a good .pdf owners manual I'd love a link. Thanks

 

gas cap you just push on one side of the fuel door when the car is unlocked

 

If its not opening by pushing your central locking pump might have a problem somewhere cuz it locks the fuel door when you lock the car.

 

Special Ed here figured it out....Key in door, turn key twice. The ole Jetta trick.

If you had to do the "turn-the-key-twice" routine, you might check the batteries in your remote?

 

Yep that's on the list of today's audi checklist. Kinda cool how the remote is built into the key on the 96's.
